Leaders in microcement

Microcement is a versatile coating option that we have used on a range of projects and surfaces. Many applicators apply microcement using a sanding process that can compromise the integrity of the product. Our application of microcement involves a traditional compression method, which ensures a stronger bonding of the material.

We pride ourselves on being able to provide expertise in microcement finishes, helping our clients to make the most suitable choice for their project.

What is microcement?

Made from a combination of cement and polymer, a microcement coating can be applied over a range of existing surfaces making it a popular choice among home owners, architects, designers and builders. It’s versatility and strong bonding features means it is a good choice for a quick update or renovation as it can be applied on anything from an existing table or bench top to a bathtub!

We use it to create amazing new features in our clients’ home. This has included fireplaces and range hoods – we’ve even coated dated kitchen cupboards. The possibilities are endless.

FAQs

FAQs

Microcement comes in a variety of standard colours plus we have the ability to modify these standard colours. We can also custom make a colour. Matching a Dulux colour for example would be 90% accurate.

This really depends on the look you want to achieve. If you’re doing a cost comparison with stone, for example, then no. You would say that microcement is pretty cost effective. But if you are comparing microcement to a specialty paint, such as a concrete look paint, then that would be a more cost-effective option.

Microcement weathers very well outdoors. The sealer plays a vital role in the protection of the microcement. If, for any reason, the sealer is compromised, we recommend contacting us to reseal the item to ensure its longevity.

Like all speciality plasters, the final finish is only as good as the substrate beneath. The final outcome and longevity of microcement is highly dependent on the structural integrity of the item. We can assist with providing accurate information on the substrate to use to ensure a long lasting and optimum result.
